Considering the herpetological diversity of Mexico, the main targets of this project is to evaluate the threatened populations of different species of herpetofauna, develope population analyses to establish the health population of these species and disseminate the information to the local communities to protect the populations through a collaborative effort with the locals. Coordinated with the German Ministry of Education and Research, we’ll also add genetic samples of Abronia specimens to the International Genetic Bank through the FOGS programme, which seeks to counteract the illegal trafficking of endangered species worldwide.
